I don't like when human art is promoted simply with "I don't use AI to make this". You still need to make me feel interested, I'm not going to pull up to your table to eat based on a principled stance alone. Don't let AI take that from you, too.

There are a lot of well-meaning posts like "draw a stick figure and you're already better than AI" and while it is true, we already have too many people who phone it in with completely human craft now. It doesn't need to be polished, but you will need to put your whole foot in this for me.

i hate to have this feeling as someone who is staunchly anti-ai but it feels like some ppl engage in this way because they’re excited to have a permissible target for a deeper frustration

i think one of my earliest stances abt this was that people seem very quick to oversimplify their own and their peers’ processes just for a chance to dunk on someone.. and while a lot of my feelings abt ai have galvanized, and some re-adjusted, i still feel this particular sentiment quite strongly

Yeah. I work really hard actually, and it sucks. And I don't get any extra points for working that hard, really. I'm not going to start saying the stuff I do can be done quickly or easily just to compete because some nerds came in with the quick-and-easy machine

yeah that gets down to my core critique of the whole thing. ppl seem exclusively focused on which tech is used moreso than why ppl use it to rush to the finish line.. if you can’t submit yourself on some level to what you’re creating, that’s the part of the problem that really scares me

The excitement at having permissible targets is SO in right now, with everything

There are a few narrow spaces that got completely bodied by AI and really do benefit in throwing this tag on their stuff so as to not get endless queries. Original ambient music and curated mixes on YouTube come to mind. For them, I just think it's sad they have to fetter their art with it now.
