Tried a smashburger from Holy Shakes, and… not terrible? If it was an $8 combo meal it’d only be slightly overpriced and a little below average. For over $20? Hard pass. Do I regret eating it? No, but I’d be a fool to go again. 3/10 - good lemonade though. At $8 I’d give it a 5/10, value ruined it.

To be fair, the got the β€œsmash” part of the burger right, had the crispy edges, but no seasoning, and the toppings overpowering flavours masked any flavour there might have been in the patty. Not as good as A&W’s version, that one is subpar by any stretch (and fails more on the β€œsmash” part badly)

But fail or not A&W’s is much tastier. Best I’ve tried from a restaurant in Vancouver was from Streats Kitchen, which is similarly overpriced, but worth it. Have made better than any of those at home honestly. Streats is close, A&W not so much, Holy Shakes? No. Not good. Failed attempt.
