Toy Story 5 is such a hilariously pro tech propaganda piece. “But tech is the main villain!” I hear you say! Yeah but SPOILERS AHEAD… Lily pad doesn’t only get a redemption arc but gets a rescue from all the other toys AND is pivotal to the plot resolution. 🧵

Jessie even has a super forced feeling line about how Lily pad can “help connect” Bonnie and the right friend. Lily pads sins are quickly washed away as not turning Bonnie into an iPad zombie but just accidentally connecting her to the “wrong” friends.

The film goes HARD into the anti tech in the first 20-40 mins but in such an exaggerated way that seems designed to be dismissed. By the end of the film we have 4 new tech characters that are now part of the main crew and all portrayed positively by film end.
