What if this was just informational rather than a constraint? Maybe late edits are fine if posts that get changed significantly acquire a big red warning. Slight grammar fixes or spelling could just get a little icon.

Naturally, the question would be how to distinguish the two. It's not too hard to invent a sentance where updating a single character changes the meaning entirely; simple measures are easily gamable. LLMs might actually be the right tool for the job.
