Furry has always been a fandom made up of a bunch of people with various interests. It's a melting pot of various subcultures because of a shared interest. While there's always a few rotten apples in any fandom, that doesn't mean you can vilify the parts of it you personally dislike.

There's always been push back and attempts to purify the fandom over the decades. I've seen it come and go many times. I've been in this fandom for twenty years. While there's plenty of parts I'm not into or may dislike, that doesn't mean those groups should be removed from our community.

I'm expecting whataboutism replies about actual harmful people. Yes, they should be removed. I'm not saying they shouldn't. But generalizing entire subgroups of our fandom as malicious or bad divides and tears us all down. If you do this, you're actively harming the fandom, not making it better.

Maybe put your effort and energy into doing something that benefits our community instead You're not going to change the public perception on furries by "removing the bad ones". They won't be satisfied until you're gone too. You aren't "one of the good ones" Either accept furry is weird, or leave.
