And did you know that today is ALSO International Vulture Awareness Day? Black Vultures are a highly social species that often follows Turkey Vultures to carcasses. In flight, look for a short tail, flat-winged silhouette, and white wingtips. Do you have a favorite vulture species or vulture fact?

In my area Turkey Vultures are the only ones I think we have, and that is just during the breeding season. My birdie friends and I love them. For years we would jokingly ask each other if we saw any turkey vultures whenever we went anywhere or did anything. Jogging, to the grocery store...anything.
