Can we stop calling them "prediction markets" and call them what they are, which is betting/gambling platforms? My teeth itch every time someone says they're "trading" on one of those things. Betting. What you're doing is called betting or gambling, Kevin.

I hate how the compare it to commodities markets. At the end of the day, somebody actually takes ownership of those 10,000 bushels of corn that traders have jacked up the price on. When a "prediction" market is done, nobody gains anything.

Ditto stock markets. Do I have issues with capital markets (having worked in them, no less)? Yes. But a bet is predicated on a coin flip - will it happen or won't it. Regular investment/trading just doesn't work like that. Or shouldn't.
