Elizabeth Cady Stanton was a primary architect & driving force behind the organized movement that ultimately won American women the right to vote in 1920. She died on #OTD in 1902 & never got to vote in her lifetime. Because of her (and others), we can. #VOTE #WomensRights #WomensSuffrage

Elizabeth Cady Stanton is a hero for women and girls today. She never got the right to vote bot She visualized the future.

Thank you Ms. Elizabeth Cady Stanton! I voted last weekend, and I thank you and all the women suffragists who helped secure me that fundamental right. I hope from somewhere in the universe you can all see the impact you’ve made.

Well, she stood on generations of women voting … indigenous women already had voting rights and recognition of full personhood. It was white immigrant Americans who brought their stratified vision of how they wanted to structure a country.

My biological mother was ten in 1920. She voted in every election she could. I remember holding her hand behind the closed curtains of the voting booth with my father telling her outside "you vote how I told you". She said to me "I vote how I want". Like my mom before me. 💙💙 I already voted.
