Every eligible voter should be able to cast a ballot and have it counted. But across the country, voters are facing confusion, intimidation, disinformation, registration problems and other attacks on their freedom to vote. Learn more at aftvotes.org.

@rweingarten.bsky.social: This work is so important because it's clear: The current administration understands they can't win a free and fair election. So they're doing what Orban did in Hungary, what Putin did in Russia. They take a democratic system and use that to create authoritarianism.

@rweingarten.bsky.social: Even during the Civil War and WWII, we had elections. And when states have challenged this administration, they've won. This is part of democracy defense, and everyone on tonight's call is working to create freedom for all.

@rweingarten.bsky.social: What we're asking of you is, to make sure we have a captain in every local and a community of volunteers in each local. When we talk about voting protection, we're talking about ensuring our neighbors have the freedom to vote without fear.

@rweingarten.bsky.social: What this administration is trying to do is scare people away from the polls. What we are trying to do is, to turn out everyone who is eligible to vote - and to make sure eligible voters have their votes counted.

@rweingarten.bsky.social: We know this year, most people see democracy as a vehicle for getting things done. Part of the way we honor that is not just to look at which candidates are best for working people, but we need to be out in our communities holding people accountable to get big things done.
