Farage resigns his seat to stop the parliamentary investigation. He reads the part of the regulation that applies only so far and no more. That "stop" is not a line, it's only as long as he's not an elected MP. Resignation pauses If relected, the parliamentary investigation resumes.

How this guys has any support is beyond me.
