Deutsche Bank kept him as a client until 2013. They dropped him specifically over human trafficking concerns then sat on the paperwork for six more years, only reporting the suspicious transfers after his 2019 arrest. Over $250 million. Reported when it no longer mattered.

JPMorgan’s is honestly worse. Fourteen years, and they filed seven suspicious activity reports, totalling $4.3 million. Then Epstein gets arrested, and suddenly they “discover” 5,000 transfers worth $1.3 billion. Almost like they knew all along and just didn’t want to say anything.

Banks have to report this stuff while it’s happening. That’s the whole point of the law. Not years later, once the man’s already been charged. The report says it better than I can: “The bankers who needed to be asking questions didn’t ask them.”
