Zillionairism (or Zero-Millionairism) is the practice of keeping your material net worth under one million dollars at all times. As an easy anchor, assume 2020 U.S. dollars. That's CAD 1.8 million today in 2026. So chances are you're already a Zillionaire - but could you commit to it for life?

The goal is to always ensure your material net worth stays below that value, adjusted for inflation, and to find other people, communities and organizations to share any additional money or assets with. This could mean donating it, making a co-operative investment or anything else that applies.

The core belief is that beyond a certain number, wealth no longer makes the holder happy through the fulfillment of necessities or through quality of living upgrades - as long as it is limited to and controlled by one person. This excess simply becomes a proxy for power instead of value.

The essence of Zillionairism is collective success over individual hypergrowth. The gained excess is to be collectivized through charity, local investments, or other domestic relationships and business partnerships in a way that the wealth is effectively stewarded by at least one other Zillionaire.

In practice: - Less worry about wealth signaling and hypergrowth, instead of quality of life and contentment. - A natural push toward collectivist lifestyle choices. Small towns, communes, large families, etc. - More investment risk tolerance and business mindedness with a focus on localism.
