if you guys spent half as much time on code review as you do on harassing random open source maintainers with pure vitriol then any concern you have about security would be obviated.

“code review is not an adequate defence against "agent" bugs” nor is writing curly brackets manual style an adequate defense against any other type of bug. get real. that thread is full of unbelievable nastiness being directed at someone who has long done labor for you for free.

I understand the move here is to simply harass people with enough vitriol that they simply stop using tools you don’t like but that’s not going to happen and that’s not how psychology works. they’re just going to hate you as much as you hate them. why would anyone try to reason with this?

all you really get from doing this is increasingly insular open source communities that are also far less effective. I understand that’s a feature for a lot of people but I think it’s a worse world for everyone. eventually people are going to stop even attempting to entertain you rhetorically, too.

all I'm saying is that a lot of people seem to think it's somehow immoral to let machines write code for you and buddy, do I have news for you about something called the GNU Compiler Collection
