was tired of having to find account information (pds, previous handles, aliases) and moderation history (account labels, blocks, post labels, lists, etc) through sketchy websites or via manual perusing, so I built skytrace.aly.town it is extremely fast and (imo) pleasing to use.

unlike others, SkyTrace does not and will not ask for login, does not require thousands of dollars a month to run (donations still encouraged!), isn't slathered with ads, and doesn't require relatively arcane atproto knowledge to use (pdsls is still the GOAT tho!).

SkyTrace runs in your browser and uses existing public infrastructure. There's no data collection going on outside of those existing services. it's also free and open source, so you could run it locally on your own if you wanted. source code: tangled.org/aly.codes/sk...

as with similar things: please do not use it to invent a torment nexus for yourself or others. I'm exploring ways to mitigate that as much as possible, such as respecting the !no-unauthenticated self-label. doable, just not certain on the implementation quite yet.

anyway, should have very minimal bluesky dependencies (rn, just the cdn and some fallback routes!), so it should survive a reginos incident :)
