I'm four long sessions in and the Daggerheart TTRPG is really scratching my itch for D&D-style play. Creating encounters is easy and fun. Playing it at the table is fast and it keeps the energy up. It helps that I'm converting Curse of the Crimson Throne. It lets me focus just on system stuff.

Daggerheart has a great play experience at the table. The only drawback to the game is when you're away from the table, there isn't much to ponder about your character. Pathfinder 1e gives me hours of play outside the table as a PC—looking up feats and spells.

"ponder about your character"... well, for me DH is like a good PbtA campaign: it's true that I don't spend much away time thinking about my character, but I spend that time thinking about the story! And find thaat ultimately more rewarding!

Being honest though, most of the TTRPGs I've played in the last decade don't have a lot of away from the table experience. Perhaps it is my D&D 3e roots that make me crave spending hours pouring over my PC's level up choices.
