Local models forcing you to nail down process instead of leaning on the model to paper over gaps seems like the actual upside, even if the outage is what pushed you there.

Not the outage, just hard to keep reading the output. For most things, including writing, AI is a wonderful catalyst but a good process eventually comes to replace most things. In genuinely fuzzy applications though having a deep learning element is going to be powerful beyond papering over.
