Life as a dark-skinned immigrant has been an endless series of disappointments, heartbreak, and traumas. I thought I'd find decent people at university, I was wrong: they were racist, colorist, casteist and eugenicist. I thought if I re-humanized & (re)educated myself, my story would shock people.

No one has attempted to connect with me in person and to expand that to all immigrants to understand what is actually going on in our lives. I see so few Canadian people who aren't white on social media. I think immigrants know that the cost for openly expressing what we endure is our lives.
