I've read so many books to try to understand how we got to where we are right now. It helps me maintain my sanity. Arendt's insights have been indispensable in that regard.

I genuinely think the West is in decline, as per the inevitable historical entropy of human societies. Empires fall harder which explains America. Trump is truly like one of the mad Roman emperors during their great fall, along with useless Senate (Congress) & compromised military.
