in PA our Constitution forbids gerrymandering (the GOP still did it though) but the court finally put a stop to it. There are 4 seats that are being contested, 1st, 7th, 8th, and 10th with 10 GOP and 7 Dems. in future after redistricting PA will lose a seat and it will likely be 9-7 Dems.

even without gerrymandering there will be even fewer contested seats as the rural-urban divide will be even starker. most population growth is in Philly suburbs with 7 Dem seats there, 1 in Pittsburgh, one around Harrisburg. contested seats will only be Lehigh Valley and Harrisburg.

The news, literally yesterday, was that there were more districts in play than they're have been in at least a decade, and possibly quite a bit longer. This sure seems to be asserting the opposite of that thing that makes sense to me, and the math supports.

"Polarized" is the ultimate in bothsiderisms. Instead of pointing out how very extreme one side has gotten the media goes the lazy route and pretends both sides are to blame. No. We can't meet in the "middle" because the "middle" has been pulled so fucking far to the Right.
