The Tenets of Dad: (1) Unconditional Love. Your kids are persons of sacred worth deserving of your unconditional love, even when they are not like you and even when you don’t understand who they are becoming.

(2) Patience and Presence. Stay calm through their tantrums, hold them through their tears, listen to what interests them, laugh at their jokes, and bear witness to their growth.

(3) Hospitality. Your home is a haven of safety in a hard, sometimes cruel, world. Welcome everyone; all people are your kids.
