Enough of this! He’s a hybrid 8.8 (by position number)! Plays, left, right, attack, midfield …but never a 6!

All steady-eddy CDM Mikel Merino will care about is the clean sheet

Should have been left on the pitch at Anfield, a decent CM

The game at Anfield Gyokeres was having a shocker yet Arteta kept him on for the 90 and took off the best finisher at the club Merino after 70. My front 6 v Forest would be Eze Zubimendi Rice in midfield-Madueke RW-Merino and Gyokeres upfront

Mosquera will be playing a lot as it is given Saliba’s 1-month absence. He’ll need a break at some point and White may need minutes coming back from his own injury. It Saliba wasn’t injured then I’d have had Mosquera in.

Decent shout!

Had a taste of goal action last season and he liked it

With his role upfront last season, and with his 6 goals in two games, Are we underestimating Merino's talents a bit? #arsecastextra

Jamie Carragher: "Who are ya? Who are ya?"

Martinelli's never been convincing as a striker, I'd much rather Merino, also is his drop in form really lack of confidence or simply reverting to type. I've always been a fan but he should have been sold in the summer.

Mikel anticipated this vein of form and started him up top against Liverpool.

🤣

So funny you/Lewis mad ethe Nelli/Gyok comparison. When Elliot and Clive did their first scouting pod on Gyokeres like...18 months ago or something...I remember saying to my friend "he looks like the striker we all thought Martinelli would develop into"
