I love the story Stephen Fry tells about her Morningside accent on QI. She was given the number of a teacher who had the perfect voice for Maggie Smith to hear. When she called the woman said in purest morningside, “My dear, I think you’ll find I have no accent whatsoever” and put the phone down.
