The issue is ignoring the million other more pressing things, they have walked back and now are taking the smallest baby steps, meanwhile we get killed in giant leaps. The people doing anti-trans legislation don't care if there is a study to cite, evidence that they are wrong is already monumental.

Post "Researchers do researchers jobs". Missing from this discourse: 1) that the legislation causes distress is a feature, not a bug, to the those who voted on this thing. 2) Data-driven evidence doesn't convince non-scientists.
