I had to do a search. And it turns out that bullshit was truly bullshit. Transactional immunity is only for witnesses to crimes under certain circumstances. It's definitely not some kind of blanket immunity for criminals employed by the government to be criminals.

A little Google search shows me that the asshole is even more of an asshole than I thought, because transactional immunity is only for witnesses to crimes, not perpetrators.
