I've been involved with mods and other shall we say IP-dubious media. You should be safe so long as there's not monetary benefit from it. If there is, however, expect a cease and desist at some point. They *usually* don't ask for damages if you're cooperative, from what I've seen.

Also, you might want to consider just launching on the Play Store first, as that's free iirc. Testing in prod, yay! Feedback will help make a more polished product for when you get enough funds for the Apple store.

Ohhhh, right. I forgot. It's one time and I think I paid it ages ago. Alternative would be to relase the APK on a fan forum, bypassing the store fee. Also more likely to get better feedback, tbh.
