This is the main thing I want people who are considering voting against the transit tax to think about. Even if you're just being selfish, it doesn't make any sense to let transit die because everybody will suffer.

BART carries almost exactly the same amount of people in the transbay tube each day as the number who cross the Bay Bridge in cars, about 275k each, so if BART dies count on bridge traffic doubling. This same exercise can be applied all over the Bay, where traffic is already often a huge mess.
