Hassan to Lyons: "I would hope I get the same treatment that Sen. Wicker got, which is to say the town doesn't want the detention center, so please cancel it. And I would expect that my partisan affiliation shouldn't make any difference to that determination."

I'll believe him over Ayotte. I don't trust Ayotte or the Republicans. Don't forget, they passed a bill that took away the right of local communities to have a say when it comes to stuff like this. I believe it was passed last week. indepthnh.org/2026/02/05/g...

indepthnh.orgGOP: ‘No’ to Late Bill Giving Merrimack Some Say on ICE FacilityHouse Republicans voted down an attempt to give Merrimack some say over a proposed ICE detention center planned for the community.

Equal treatment isn’t radical, it’s the bare minimum: if a town says no to a detention center, that answer shouldn’t change with party labels—rule of law collapses the moment power starts playing favourites.

Either she is oblivious to what Republicans are today or she is being very sarcastic here, or begging for Republicans to find ethics, as if.

I mean I’m not defending her but this is clearly rhetorical. Of course partisanship is all that matters to this regime. Of course conservative bitching about ‘big federal government’ oppressing local interests is utter bullshit.

Maggie Hassan has been more than willing to carry water for Trump. On almost every Senate vote where you see "Democrats vote with Republicans on...." Hassan and her NH colleague Jeanne Shaheen are on the list.

My senators! I've called and written emails expressing my displeasure and just receive a polite "Your opinion is important to us" reply. Do they think this gives them some political capitol with Republicans. Shaheen is retiring this year. Why not vote against every tRump nominee to send a message?

To say cities get no warning/ability to vote against these human warehouses is extreme government overreach. Cities must plan for impact on existing water, electricity and sewage systems. Beyond that, citizens deserve the right to deny the long term warehousing of human beings in their communities

No sane Americans want any concentration camps anywhere in America. Republicans need to reform these agencies so that these agencies are no longer committing crimes against humanity in America. This is a disgusting failure, rooted in incompetence, greed, and pure racism. It is truly wrong.
