This is not an opportunity. It is a trap. The GOP has moved the Overton Window by becoming so extreme, they pull the Democratic Party to the "center" and it just becomes the Republican Party before they decided to be openly extremist. Killing the Democratic Party indirectly.

Read an essay in Christianity Today arguing that Evangelicals shouldn’t go for Talarico. He doesn’t represent true Christian values. The knives are out in the Evangelical corner, but they have a hard time supporting Paxton arguing his bonafides.

No, the right wing has verbally assimilated religious nationalism to their party in a severe cult manner. Republicans are shoving religion down everyone’s neck in their purity test bs. We don’t want faith, even the kind that cares for people, being a conversion goal for government officials.

It’s wonderful to be a person of faith wanting to use your talents to change people’s lives & help them through governance. The focus is on helping the people, not demanding religious obedience for due help. Government is not church. Politicians are servants not gods.

Republicans have nothing in common with the Jesus of the Bible. They are far more aligned with the views and acts of Caligula than Jesus.

We have had many men of different faiths in office of the president . Faith may guide them but the constitution is what they believed in . GOP want to rewrite the constitution . They do not want to follow it . That's the difference .

Christian nationalism isn’t faith. It’s a political movement wrapped in religion to gain power. Faith is measured by humility, compassion, honesty, and service—not loyalty to a politician. Democrats shouldn’t be afraid to champion the values many faiths actually preach.

I know and have known many Democrat Christians. They are different from Republican Christians in that they actually try to feed the poor, heal the sick and house the homeless not bankrupt and asset strip the nation. That the DNC is sold out to AIPAC ect is a crime in itself IMHO.

It is not Talarico's religion that I like. And one religious candidate doesn't define all of us. However, if you are going to claim a religion it behooves you to actually practice what you preach, least you become a hypocrite. So far Talarico seems to follow the teachings of Jesus.
