We played The Incident at Galley House over the weekend and it was EXCELLENT. A fantastic specimen of this type of mystery/deduction puzzle games with great production value on all fronts. ๐Ÿงต because I wanna ramble about it a bit but you should really just go play it.

The story: creepy, interesting, well told. It keeps you guessing without being too convoluted or unlikely (within the realm of "we have a machine that lets us see echoes of the past"), and progresses beautifully along with the gameplay.

The gameplay/UI: YESSSS. In games based on making connections and deductions, the way you manage the information being thrown at you is crucial, and this game has a really nice note-taking interface. Every time we wanted to do something, the UI allowed it. It never got in the way, it

was intuitive and easy to follow, and on top of everything felt like part of the environment and general vibe. *mwah*. The art: I *love* the environments. They have a "hidden object game" feeling to them [complimentary], in the sense that they feel rich and like they hold secrets. The character art

is mostly static (the in-game explanation is that you're listening to echoes from the past and the machine knows to match portraits to the voices rather than show you the actual scene that took place), but well done and fits the style and atmosphere. Some lovely visual FX tie everything together
