Well. I guarantee you that it will be the most obvious and stupid political suicide in American history. They would be doing two of the worst things possible - taking away Social Security payments from the elderly and using military on them. Republicans will fold if it reaches that point.

The max is 85% of SS is taxed. And only at her top rate. This ensures that high income (not high asset) people draw less SS, so low income earners are not in poverty. People like Trump, tho, pay no taxes, so keep it all. Reforms are needed, just well above your mother's income level.

Hey @axios.com Elon & the DOGE BOYS have TURNED OFF SocialSecurity.gov for a number of hours each day!!! So if I wake up in the middle of the night worried about Social Security, or my Medicare application (which you have a 7-month window to finalize), I can’t look at my options on the SSA website.

Absolute chaos.

What possible explanation could they give to complete this in two weeks instead of two years? That’s to say nothing of wtf are they doing this in the first place? When is the tide going to turn? What is that event going to be where enough people say enough is enough?

70 million of us should have standing to sue. They need to be stopped immediately. They must hire back everyone, restore and add phone lines, fix the web service, and put back money they have stolen. PLUS gazillions in damages. PLUS Congress must remove the cap and fund SS appropriately.

We go back to the conditions that caused us to create social security to begin with. So the homelesss will occupy the streets. They will live under bridges and overpasses. They will deficate and die in allies spreading disease and filth everywhere.

States that pay more into the federal government than they get back, should simply fund it at the state level, and help other states fund theirs, before sending anything to the alt-right D.C. Most blue states do, we are all in this together. Contact your gov, statehouse, media, reps.
