Greed. The rise of plutocrats like Musk, Zuckerberg, Bezos and the Ellisons into both political power and slavish adulation by large sectors of the public demonstrate that power and status are now entirely dependent on monetary value, which is the driving force in international politics as well.

No other species is this self destructive, or delusional. People need to see the forest for what it is or this sickness will perpetuate till all is consumed. Idk maybe it's too late but incredibly sad.

Yes but the basis of this is one of psychological illness on a vast scale of human condition, money is merely the construct that facilitates the malady. To heal this lesion it will take the discovery of its birth to be recognized deeper, as people are numb to it all.
