Complain about an "issue" a con you aren't at is having. Works especially well if you phrase if as if it's immoral to enjoy the con because of the "issue"

The main hotel for the con they've waited all year to go to is booked out seconds after openings become available. ;)

on a sidenote, assuming you need to have a fursuit, go to as many cons as you can to be fully one is one i've seen work (not my idea)
