Came to say the same. Unbelievable difference. If he had pitched the same number of innings as Ryan he'd be on 6319 strike outs. Understand that 'if he had' is doing a lot of heavy lifting there but remarkable all the same

Strikeout totals have gone through the roof in the last couple of decades. Every season strikeout record, both hitters and pitchers, will be shattered by the time it is over.

Do pitchers maintain it for as long though? I can't imagine any of the big strike out pitchers now maintaining it for 15-20 years. The injuries etc will surely prevent it
