I think every single one of these I’ve seen in the wild is missing the mesh cover.

Still looks better than most compact digital audio systems released today.

4th gen iPod!!

This is something I miss with modern Apple. Was this product pretentious and overpriced? Yes. But it was aspirational. They made products that blended well with your physical surroundings while leveraging your digital life. They didn’t look like “gadgets,” they looked like good speakers.

Now just replace the mount on top with one that supports the iPad connectors.
