Define “basic”. What I’d do depends on how much money you’re talking about. $50 a week? $200? $500? More? Less? Does “everyone” include minors?

That's a fair question because "basic" isn't self-defining. Different UBI proposals use different payment levels, ranging from modest supplements to amounts intended to meet basic living expenses.

There isn't even a universally agreed-upon amount for UBI. The common features are that it's universal, unconditional, individual, and paid regularly in cash. Many U.S. proposals use an amount around the federal poverty guideline for one adult—about $1,330/month
