Many people worry UBI just hands landlords more room to raise rent. What if we paired it with LVT (a tax on land value that discourages hoarding and speculation)?

Or rent controls?

Not needed with LVT, because any uplift in land values/rents will just be captured by the tax, meaning it’s not worthwhile for the landlord to up rents (If done properly)
