kitchen sink packs are fun when you get a bunch of friends together and host a server for like a week but as soon as everyone picked a single mod and finished it (because the progression of the mods are ruined by each other overlapping in functionality) it gets boring and everyone stops playing

and whenever a kitchen sink has a big lofty goal at the end (atm star, ftb pyramid, etc.) it's just a boring grind fest check list with no meaningful challenges or problem solving

a lot of the depth of tfg can be attributed to the absolutely absurd amount of content in gtceu but there is also a ton of custom additions to the progression and early game challenges with terrafirmacraft that make it so much more interesting to me
