With Fable being so expensive, and API pricing only, my prediction is that companies will restrict access to only prompts that have been signed off by another engineer/manager. I wonder if PR will come to mean “prompt review” as well as “pull request” 😅

Sorta takes the whole point of the technology away if it doesn’t “save time” tho right? Fable are just an early domino falling as the mass subsidisation comes to an end across the board IMO

I have found that LLMs save me quite a lot of time, personally. I do agree that prices are going up, though. And by a lot.

I can believe it for sure. And I’ve no doubt I’ll find myself nodding along to a subset of the points he’s making. But I can’t get through the smugness of it all. Gives me Jordan Peterson or Richard Dawkins vibes. It is genuinely funny to watch people melting down over the price increases, tho.

Yeh the smugness is not ideal but I can understand it because to be fair to him, it's all unravelling just like he's been reporting it would. The finances just don't add up and literally can't. These are only modest price increases vs what the prices actually need to be too

With how cyclical it all is, too. I think the bubble risk is real. I do think there’s a chance they make it through, but if it all comes crashing down it won’t be something I’m that surprised by.
