I saw someone posting a link to a code package that allows someone to download social media content locally curate it and interact with it with and then upload updates later. My friend, you have just reinvented the Usenet newsreader.

I implore all of you devs out there younger than 30 to please listen to us annoying Olds in this matter. Online culture has existed for several decades now. “Social media” did not invent it, it just took it in a different direction. Perhaps it’s time to steer back.

The socia concepts and technical hurdles you are encountering have been encountered before. Usenet, Fidonet, IRC, web forums, BBSes, etc. I implore you to go visit these things and actually learn from the social aspects and technical feats that were hard earned over years. Don’t use “vibes”.
