Strong evidence that AI researchers should NOT be trusted to help us understand the ethical and moral implications and consequences of their creations. Palantir already generally cannot be trusted and requires careful oversight, which it gravely lacks.

Trust requires a foundation of some kind. The only foundations we have with Palantir demonstrate that they operate outside good faith of our Constitution. State surveillance is already sus in foreign intelligence collection; it violates 4A, 5A, & 9A in most domestic collection AI is ThoughtCtrl

We are not saying all AI is bad. We are saying that centralization of AI serves the dual purpose of understanding and shaping our every thought. AI could empower and enable disadvantaged ppl and democratize tech access for all, but that’s not the goal of the stewards. We must regulate them now.

In the very least, we must have the conversation in public, where anyone can participate and be heard. It cannot be a conversation limited to the elite, enriched, and privileged people, as it currently is. We are seeking to host intercity, open, 1A discussions on Zoom-connected public stages.
