Isnt Virtualisation and Containerisation fun. I installed Immich on my proxmoxvm/docker containers and it sent my NAS insane. I managed to put the thumbnails folder remote instead of local But in trying to resolve this by rsync it it back I noticed the connection speed on my supposed 10gb link 5MB/s

I dont have the answers yet, as soon as I fix Immich (25gb copy) I can look into it. But some things to consider are. Whats the linkspeed from Prox to Nas, test this. How do we expose the NIC to the VM, as this is where the slowdown is.

Then I need to consider whats the read only speed from the container on the VM to the NAS ? As docker networking introduces more latency. Now this sounds like home fun, but these problem translate, your app in AKS for example, whats that latency, does it matter to your app ?

Do you need to reconsider you hosting , should you be IAAS as your app needs fast responses, higher than PaaS provides, is the nature of your app more instances solves, this, which is great, but you should know when to scale and build accordingly.
