man it would be cool to have a future shade tree simulator for an entire region or city to see how a place like Los Angeles could be improved by trees

Feeding it satellite and lidar instead of hand-modeling the yard is the part that makes this practical. Tracking the sun angle across five years of growth is a serious detail.

the full version is perhaps too doxy even for me, face and name posting plebe that I am (it's got street labels...) but maybe there's like an anonymized version I can post somewhere that other intrepid gardener / agent tool users can riff off of
