It's almost impossible to put a limit on consciousness. Humans once believed it was unique to us but some top consciousness researchers now think it may be fundamental like gravity. This means it's not just going down to bees and ants but perhaps all the way down to the measurement problem.

Interesting. I can tell you FOR SURE that the wolf you see in this video was 100% self aware, as were the other 100+ wolves and wolfdogs that I rescued and rehomed. You can actually see it in their faces, when they are afraid, or feeling joy. You can easily see that they are thinking.
