No but a computer vision model trained on thousands of images using deep learning is. This is exactly why it's frustrating. I didn't say LLM. I said AI.

Ok. ML has been part of all of our daily lives for well over a decade. Spell check. Power grids. Search engines. Any recommendation algorithm. Making sure infrastructure isn’t falling apart. Basically all fields of scientific research. Data routing for the internet itself… none of this is new

If you’re able to understand all of that, surely you’re able to understand that words can be used differently by different groups of people at different times? Yes, when the average layperson says “AI” in 2026, they mean LLMs and stable diffusion style text-to-image models.

Oh yeah def. It's not confusing. It's frustrating. Clear communication is important especially when helping people make informed decisions.

Then communicate with them clearly in their vocabulary. It is not their job to magically know and use the vocabulary of a domain specialist.
