I only played my c64 through a black and white TV for years. Complete revelation when I was finally gifted a colour

My answer to this question on X: I reached 17 watching only Black & White TV. We learned to find truth in gradients of gray.

My mum got us a small colour TV to replace the black and white one because she bought me a ZX Spectrum (with it's 8 colours) for my 10th birthday. Still loved that speccy though, especially with the prestel modem a few years later that I ran a big phone bill up on!

My grandfather was very proud that he had bought the first colour TV. I guess I know where I got the early adopter gene from. I inherited that TV and used it all the way till the Playstation. So, no, never used a black and white TV except for the little portable one we had for travelling.
