From the UK, this is so tough to hear. No-one has to pay for cancer treatment here. (You can choose to go private, of course). Yes, mistakes are made. Yes, some wait longer than ideal. But the vast majority get a fast, excellent service & no-one dies of cancer because they can't afford treatment.

I personally know of three people treated for cancer in 2025 by the NHS. Tests, diagnoses, biopsies, treatment, in-hospital care, after care, all superb and timely, and all paid for by our collective taxes.
