Took me a hot minute to get the MT-100 working as an MT-32. It requires a button combo to accept MIDI input. And sadly, it doesn’t request “buckazoids”

Welp it’s mine! A Roland MT-100. Basically an MT-32 without the buffer overrun bug, but including a sequencer, floppy, buttons, one big ass knob, and a shit ton of dust and grime. Woohoo!!

Reminds me of whatever alternate one i have that is huge (i'll have to grab a picture later), it takes midi in by default, but you have to do a really weird button combo to put it in mt-32 mode. I printed a label with instructions and stuck it on there because there was no way i'd remember. 😅

🫠 It's inevitable. There is a weird combo for putting an sc-88 into some pseudo mt-32 mode too i think, used to have a sticky note stuck to the top of it for that. It was something bizarre too. Like wtf was roland doing with these things?
