I previously assumed that Garden State Fur The Weekend's original non-profit business entity was still legally operating up until at least the point the LLC was founded, because it still has a business ID number. This is incorrect; it was suspended on 16th September 2023.

Since the LLC was not founded until 1st April 2024, how was GSFTW taking in pre-registrations for the 2024 event before that point? Was that money going to a bank account belonging to a business whose status had been suspended? 😱

The LLC was only incorporated on 1 April 2024. They started using RegFox to take in pre-registrations before that date. So the Employer Identification Number they used must have been the one for the non-profit. The one that had its New Jersey DOR status suspended in September 2023.
