sync, runtime, cmd/compile: add way to mix Mutex/chan in select go-review.googlesource.com/c/go/+/82854... This is like the 5th time I've thrown this at a new AI model but GPT-6-Astra seems to have maybe done it? After it first rejected me for cybersecurity reasons but I talked it out of it #golang

The part that usually kills these CLs is surviving the first cybersecurity refusal without inventing a helper goroutine. If Astra kept the cancelable wait inside select instead of Lock in the background, that is the novelty.

Check out the code!

Looked at the CL. LockChan itself does not acquire. The select receive does, and a lost case leaves the descriptor reusable. The compiler special case for case <-mu.LockChan() is what keeps that from allocating on every attempt.

I guess the problem you have with just creating a goroutine for the locking is that it‘s not cancelable? Or are there other subtleties?
