The atmosphere feels more and more like IM in the early 2000s with social layered on top. I can post my status, what I'm listening to, or chat with people. Is there an interesting it uniquely provides? Any apps that couldn't exist anywhere else. I am aware of the interop, it is a big plus.

Yikes. This is barely coherent. A rephrase of the question wood be. Does the atmosphere provide any unique apps or experiences yet?
